Crash Takes The Life Of Estill Springs Woman

fatal accidentAn Estill Springs woman was pronounced dead and three others had to be hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 130 Tuesday morning around 7:30 a.m.
According to a report by Tennessee Highway Patrolman Carl Seagroves, 20-year-old Amber Nichole Tustin of Highland Ridge Road, Estill Springs, was killed when the Buick LaSabre she was a passenger in crashed into a large ditch and flipped onto its top.
The vehicle was operated by 19-year-old Ryan Scott Tustin of Highland Ridge Road, Estill Springs, whom Trooper Seagroves stated ran off the right side of the roadway and then overcorrected. The vehicle then went off the left side of the road into a deep culvert, flipped and landed on its top. Traffic along the narrow two lane Highway 130 was brought to a standstill as emergency personnel worked to remove the injured from the vehicle. Firefighters from the North Franklin County Fire Department and the Winchester Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate passenger 48-year-old Robert Wayne Caldwell of Highland Ridge Road Estill Springs, from the vehicle. He was then flown by Vanderbilt LifeFlight helicopter from the crash scene to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Another passenger, 13-year-old Aaron Joseph Caldwell of Highland Ridge Road, Estill Springs, was removed from the crash scene and transported to Harton Regional Medical Center. He was later flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department assisted the troopers and fire personnel.
