Eugene D. Armstrong, age 82 of Manchester, Tennessee and former Florida resident, passed away on March 15, 2013 at the Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN.
Mr. Armstrong was a retired Police Sergeant serving 22 years with Rivera Beach, Florida Police Department and was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Boyse Armstrong, daughter, Evelyn Armstrong and step-sons, James Clews and Richard Clews.
He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man who cared about other people, his community and enjoyed hunting and raising cattle.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. Christian Armstrong of Manchester, TN; three children, Mary Pabst of Lake Worth, FL, Eugene Armstrong, Jr. of Lake Worth, FL and Brenda Herbs and her husband Everett of Manchester, TN; one brother, William Armstrong of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Kimberly Pabst, Wesley Pabst, “J.J.” Herbs and Suzanne Herbs; one great-grandchild, Darlus Mason; daughter-in-law, Lorna Clews of Normandy, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends in Tennessee and Florida.
Visitations will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 5 – 8 p.m. and also on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. both at the Lakeview Baptist Church on Rhoton’s Chapel Road.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Church on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. following the visitation.
Burial will be at the Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
