Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Armendia Powell, age 85, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Williams and Bro. Roger Davis officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM Noon until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Powell passed away on Wednesday at her residence.
Mrs. Powell was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Houston and Leona Fletcher Freeze. She was a homemaker and a member of New Union Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, going to church, and hummingbirds.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powell was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Rigney and Opel Davis; two brothers, Virgil and Russell Freeze.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Ralph Powell of Manchester; one son, Randy Powell and wife, Amparo of North Carolina; Sharon Powell of Manchester; three grandchildren, Tina Gilliam, David Esslinger, and Brandi Mason; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.
