The woman whose burned body was found Saturday in a rock quarry in Summitville has been identified as Connie Lou Brown, age 50, of McMinnville. An autopsy revealed the victim died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said Monday the agency believes she was killed at a different location and her body was later dumped near the Summitville Cave. The TBI used fingerprints to determine the woman’s identity, and they are also seeking information from the public. Brown’s body was found near an old rock quarry by men who were on four wheelers Saturday, but it appears they may not be the only ones to have first spotted her body. According to sheriff’s Captain Frank Watkins, investigators are following up on information they have received in the case.
