Former South Pittsburg, TN Mayor Mike Killian has agreed to plead guilty to illegal gambling. Mike Killian is the brother of U.S. District Attorney Bill Killian from Jasper.
The FBI charged the former mayor Wednesday afternoon following a raid of two of his facilities in January. They said Mike Killian’s operation included video gambling, sports betting and an “outlaw” lottery- all of which violate state law.
Attorneys Lee Davis and Bryan Hoss are representing Killian. Davis said, “Killian has only agreed to one count of illegal gambling, as a part of a bigger plea deal.”
A representative for the U.S Department of Justice says former South Pittsburg Mayor Mike Killian faces up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine up to a quarter of a million dollars.
