She was preceded in death by her husband, James”Bunt” Battles, mother, Mattie Whitworth and daughter, Frances Iwilla Battles.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Four daughters, Gayle “Bitsy” Battles of Louisville, TN, Marilyn “Medley” Martin of Holly Springs, North Carolina; Patricia “Candy” (Maurice) Taylor of Tullahoma, TN and Althea “Tissie Turner of Manassas Virginia.
Three sons, Frederick “Fred” (Margaret) Battles of Tullahoma,TN; George “Ted” Battles of Memphis, TN; and James “Jimmy” (Meera) Battles of Maryville, TN;
One brother, Fred Whitworth of Tullahoma, TN;
13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church with Funeral Services to follow at 1:oopm at First Baptist Church in Winchester, TN with Elder Sandy Ray Kinslow as Eulogist.
Interment Winchester City Cemetery.
