VERNON EUGENE EDMONDS, JR., age 66, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Nashville Veterans Hospital, losing his battle with cancer.
Mr. Edmonds was a Christian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Edmonds was retired. Since his retirement he was employed by ABM Security at Tennessee Tannery. Mr. Edmonds was an avid golfer, and loved music. Most importantly he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grand-father and brother and an “all around good guy”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Virginia Stewart White and Ted Stewart and a brother, Richard Edmonds.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Edmonds of Estill Springs, Tenn., Children; Admanda Tellvik, Sam Edmonds and Joe Edmonds all of Washington, step-children; Joshua Kamer of Manchester and Audra Kamer of Estill Springs, brothers; Kent Stewart of Lynchburg, Tenn., and Tim Stewart of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., 4-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 P.M. prior to the service. Tim Stewart and Bill Camp will officiate. Military honors will be bestowed.
