Testimony continues today in the double murder trial of Marcus Wade. He is accused of murdering Franklin County’s Ricky Elliott and Tim Gill in the Quality Inn Motel on North Jackson Street in October 2010. A female friend of Wade testified Friday that the two of them had been riding around Winchester on the night of the murder. She said that he had parked at the motel and she stayed in the car while Wade went into the motel. She said that she heard two pops but decided that it was fireworks. She testified that he had a gun to his side when he got into the car, but the defense attorney played a recording of her talking to police and she said that he did not have a gun. Testimony continued in an unusual Saturday session. The trial is expected to last most of the week.
