The Coffee County Central High Red Raiders opened post season play on Thursday night as they took on Warren County in the opening round of the District 6AAA basketball tournament held in Sparta. With their season on the line, the Raiders battled the Pioneers to the final whistle as Lake Elam’s apparent game-winning shot was waved off at the buzzer and the Raiders fell 51 to 50 to the Pioneers. Coffee County got another huge performance from District 6’s Player of the Year Lance Crismond as he poured in 22 points. Anthony Jackson and Brock Ivy-Bodman each netted 8 points. With the loss, Coffee County’s Red Raiders season comes to a close with a final season record of 11 and 16. Anthony Jackson and Lance Crismond were named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Co-Players of the Game.
The district tournament continues on Saturday from White County as the girl’s open district tournament play at 3 PM taking on White County. We will have that broadcast beginning at 2:50 with the Lawrence Family Motors Pregame Show.
