There was a domestic violence related murder at 3:20 Thursday (this morning 2/14/13) morning in Murfreesboro. The incident happened at a home in Blackman. The female victim 31-year-old Carla Pearman, formally Carla Dillard of Manchester, was allegedly killed on Valentine’s Day by the hands of her husband of 3 months, 28-year-old Jacob Pearman.
The incident took place at 839 Kanatak Lane in the Blackman area. Pearman was taken into custody in Manchester after fleeing Rutherford County in the female victims’ Jeep. Pearman was arrested at a gas station at Exit 111. The man was scheduled to be in court Thursday morning to face charges that he assaulted the woman’s son.
Apparently the suspect called his parents and left what has been described as a troubling message. The family then called the police and authorities paid a visit to the home to do a welfare check. The victim was found deceased in her bed. The official cause of her death has not been released by police.
The female victim was allegedly bludgeoned to death, although the “official” cause of death will be released after she examined by the medical examiner.
Pearman has been charged with first degree murder. Police say he has confessed to the murder of his wife. A preliminary hearing will take place in a Rutherford County courtroom next week.
