2/15/13 —Ruby Wheeler Murphy

Ruby Wheeler Murphy of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, February 11th, 2013 at her residence at the age of 83.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Eagleville, TN to the late Amos and Effie Davis Wheeler.

During her life she worked as a Secretary at Northern Field in the 50′s, taught business classes at Tullahoma High School, Owned and Operated Ruby Murphy Interiors, was a Co-Founder of the Foundation for the preservation of Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murphy is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Murphy; and one sister, Gladys Farris. She is survived by one daughter, Julie Smith and her husband Lanas of Boulder, CO; two sons, Joe Murphy and his wife Carol of Franklin, TN and Jeff Murphy and his wife Rhonda of Nashville; and grandchildren, Paige, Parker, and David Smith, Logan, Bevin, Bridget, and Kyle Murphy and Nick and Kevin Murphy.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 14th from 4:00-7:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home.

Services will be Friday February 15th at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Ashley and Rev. Paul Purdue officiating with visitation one hour prior to service.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
