2/11/13 —- Eva Ione Farrar Toms

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Ione Farrar Toms, age 92 of Manchester  will be conducted at 1:00pm, Monday, graveside at the Blanton Chapel Cemetery  with Sally Harvey and Louis Johnson officiating. 

Visitation with the Toms family will be  from 5pm until 9pm, Sunday at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mrs. Toms passed away  Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Manchester Healthcare  Center.

 

Mrs. Toms was born on January 19, 1921 in Coffee County, Tennessee  the daughter of the late James Monroe and Becky Louetta Hickerson Farrar.  She was also preceded in death by her  husband of sixty years, Jessie Boyd Toms, by a beloved daughter, Glenda Pauley  Sain, by a brother, Eldon Farrar and by a great granddaughter, Courtney Lou  Sain.  

Mrs. Toms grew up surrounded  by loving family and friends in Coffee County.  She was a woman of strong faith and was  a lifetime member of the Blanton Chapel United Methodist Church.   

Mrs. Toms is survived  by:

1 son- Royce Toms of Brentwood, Tn

4 daughters- Carol Benson of  Manchester

                        Helen Darden of Manchester

                        Connie Hill of Murfreesboro

                        Kathy Esslinger of Tullahoma

3 siblings- Odell Pitts and Horace Farrar, both of  Manchester

                    Katherine Smith of Normandy

13 grandchildren, 17 great  grandchildren.

Also surviving is devoted family friens, Justin Goodwin of  Manchester, whom Mrs Toms loved like a son.
