Mr. Thomas Ward Ikard, age 75, of Decherd, passed away Thursday February 7, 2013.
He was born and raised in the Alto community and was a co-owner and operator of Ikard Towing and Recovery. Both family and friends will remember him as one who worked hard and had a love of farming and driving trucks. He greatly enjoyed seeing his garden grow and reaping and sharing its bounty. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Emily Ikard, and his brothers, Jimmy Ikard and Teddy Ikard.
He is survived by his sons, Jason (Kelly) Ikard of Estill Springs, Scott (Lynne) Vargo, of St. Charles, Missouri, his step son Victor (Anne) Myers of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister Lyla Wilkerson, and a special niece, Tiffany Ikard. His grand-children: Grayson, Emily, Brandon, Matt and Tasha will each remember his love.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday February 9, 2013 at Watson-North Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Mount Garner Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
