More Moonshine–This Time In Murfreesboro

Stanley Dotson Wise

Recently we reported to you about moonshine still being found in Coffee County. Now this out of Rutherford County: A lot of moonshine was discovered by police this week at a home on Veterans Parkway in Murfreesboro. Police went to the home in question to serve a warrant on 23-year-old Stanley Dotson Wise. Once at the home, resident Michelle Williams granted permission for police to enter and search the property. Wise was quickly located in the upstairs of the house.
Inside the home police say they found 22 bottles of moonshine in an upstairs bedroom. According to the report, Wise stated that he pays $35 for a gallon of moonshine and then breaks it down into quart sized bottles. Wise told police that he flavors the moonshine after he breaks it down into quart containers.
After discovering the moonshine, police searched an outdoor shed on the property. Inside the shed, officers found what are believed to be stolen horse saddles. One saddle was valued at over $10,000.
The second page of the arrest report shows that a charge of untaxed liquor and theft are currently pending. He is now in jail on a warrant from Macon County on meth charges.
