Athletes In Trouble

Sunday night in Shelbyville six players on the Motlow State Community College’s basketball teams four men and two women, were charged with possession of marijuana.
All were charged after not admitting to possessing to the drug.
Men’s basketball players Kerrell Deshun Davis, 20, Jalen Dion Blackwell, 19, Charles Andrew Waters, 20, and Jerron Allen Washington, 19, all of Memphis were charged. Kinashia Ichelle Russell, 19, of Clarksville and Lekera Deshay Taylor, 20, of Chattanooga, who play for the Lady Bucks, were arrested on Elm Street near a convenience store where police noticed suspicious activity.
Davis was also charged with reckless driving and Blackwell with underage drinking. Most are listed as living in one off-campus Tullahoma apartment building.
Motlow College athletic director Jerry Nichols in a written statement says, “Motlow College is aware that six student-athlete basketball players were arrested in Bedford County. Pending the ongoing investigation by local law enforcement, all six players have been suspended from their respective teams.
