John Cathey
After 21 years of service at the Coffee County ambulance service, director John Cathey retired yesterday. During ceremonies held at the county office building, as many as 100 individuals turned out to wish him well in his adventures. In addition to ambulance personnel, county officials and other well wishers, ambulance personnel from several counties around middle Tennessee, Lifeflight, as well as Air Evac personnel were in attendance. The newly named ambulance director, Scott James Cooper of Manhattan, Kansas, will be taking over the department.
