District Attorneys Want Changes In Prosecution Of Serial Child Sex Abusers

Coffee County District Attorney Mickey Layne

Tennessee prosecutors are pushing for changes that they say will aid the prosecution of serial child sexual abusers.
The Director of the Tennessee District Attorneys General said prosecutors want to be able to have one trial for sex abusers who commit crimes in multiple counties instead of separate trials in each county.
They also want to increase the minimum amount of time that must be served before a prisoner is eligible for parole in cases of aggravated child neglect and attempted first-degree murder where there are serious injuries.
