The Raiders and Lady Raider basketball teams traveled to Crossville on Tuesday night to take on Cumberland County. In the girl’s game, Coffee County used healthy 1st and 4th quarters to earn a hard fought 39 to 32 victory over the Lady Jets. The Lady Raiders got all but 2 of their points from the paint or the free throw line on the night. Coffee County was led by Alaina Lusk who had 19 points while Ginny Clayborne added 12 points. Alaina Lusk was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game. The Lady Raiders improved their season record to 13 and 11 and their district record to 5 and 1.

The boy’s game started strong for the Raiders but the Jets kicked in the afterburners and the Raiders fell by a final score of 63 to 51. Coffee County led 15 to 14 at the end of the first quarter, but a cold shooting touch all night ended their hopes of the road upset. Lance Crismond was the leading scorer for Coffee County with 21 points while Addison Carter added 9 points. Lance Crismond was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game. The Raiders record fell to 9-14 on the year and they are now 1 and 5 in district play.
Coffee County will travel to Cookeville on Friday night to take on the Cavaliers. The girl’s game will tip off at 6 PM and our broadcast begins with the Lawrence Family Motors pregame show at 5:50 here on Thunder Radio.
