Mevolene Norton, age 77 of Manchester, TN , passed away on January 25, 2013 at the Kindred Hospital in Nashville.
Mrs. Norton was born in Manchester, TN to her parents, the late Homer Alexander Cooper and Clemmie Ora Davis Cooper and was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eldridge Norton and daughter, Beverly Ann Turngren.
She enjoyed watching UT football & basketball and playing basketball in her earlier years, but her greatest pleasure was to put love, laughter and happiness in other people’s hearts. She attended the Gnat Hill Church of Christ.
Mrs. Norton is survived by her children, Dale Norton and his wife May of Manchester, TN and Tammie Carpenter also of Manchester, TN: sisters, Frances Crowley and Shirley Hannum both of Niles, Michigan; three grandchildren, Megan Turngren of Washington, D.C., Elijah Norton and BriAnna Norton both of Manchester, TN; special friends, Millard Carr, Londa Crowley and Cleburn Lowe; childhood friends, Junior & Christine Fletcher; and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends who share wonderful memories about Mevolene.
Visitations will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Rigsby officiating.
Burial will follow at the Blanton’s Chapel Cemetery.
