County unemployment rates for December 2012 show the rate decreased in two counties and increased in 93 primarily due to normal seasonal employment declines. County unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted and reflect seasonal employment changes from month to month.
The Coffee County unemployment rate climbed slightly in December by 0.1% to 7.3 percent. Nearby Franklin County went up by half point to 6.9 percent last month, compared to November. On the mountain in Grundy County rate was up by more than half point from 8.7 to 9.3 percent. Bedford County went from 7.8% in November to 8.3% in December. Moore County went up from 6% to 6.7. Over in Cannon County they also went up slightly from 5.8% to 5.9% in December. Warren County was one of two counties to go down, dropping from 8.8% in November to 8.4% in December. Williamson County had the state’s lowest rate at 5% and Scott County the highest at 16.8%.
