Attorney Russell Hedges
The Tullahoma Board of Education appointed Tullahoma attorney Russell Hedges to a position on the new ethics committee to be formed by the board. Appointing members to the ethics committee erupted into controversy Tuesday with sharp comments made about who would fill the third position. Chairman Pat Welsh says that Hedges would have an “independent” focus on the board and make decisions along those lines. The move to form the committee stems from questions about a special meeting called by Tullahoma Mayor Lane Curlee on Oct. 17 and whether some attending Board of Education members may have violated the state’s open meetings act, also called the “sunshine law.”
