Mr. Joseph R. Milillo, age 87, of Wartrace, TN., passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, TN.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 24 from 5 – 8 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 25 at 11 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Catholic with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens .
Mr. Milillo was born August 7, 1925 in Auburn, NY, the son of the late Steven and Pamela Consiglia Tanzella Milillo.
He was an Aeronautical Engineer and had retired from Calspan Corporation at Arnold Air Force Base in 1993. He was previously employed by NACA, Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and worked for Aro, Inc. at Arnold AFS, TN from 1977 – 1981. He was a registered Engineer and a former member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was an associate Fellow of AIAA and president of the AIAA Tullahoma Chapter. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Milillo was a member of the NRA and the Arnold Center Shooter’s Club. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Mr. Milillo is survived by his wife, Vivian Dotter Milillo of Wartrace, TN.; one son, John Milillo of Nashville; one daughter, Stephanie Kellerman of Louisville, KY.; one step-daughter, Lara McKinnon and her husband, Chris of Lynchburg, TN.; one step-son, David Dotter and his wife, Rebekah of Geisman, LA .; two brothers, Mike Milillo and his wife, Phyllis of Auburn, NY and Nick Milillo and his wife, Theresa of Auburn, NY; one sister, Rose DePasquale of Buffalo, NY and two grandchildren, Elizabeth “EJ” Kellerman of Pittsboro, NC and Bert Kellerman of San Diego, CA.
In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society.
