Rescue squads from Warren and White counties and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency worked together to save two men whose boat was dangling over the edge of a dam.
According to the Southern Standard, Greg and Gary Cherry’s boat had motor trouble.
The Cherry’s boat dangled over the dam at Pepper Branch Park in McMinnville for nearly three hours before they were rescued.
A rope thrown down from a railroad trestle helped keep it from going over the edge.
Personnel and resources from McMinnville Police and Fire, The Warren County Rescue Squad, TWRA, Warren County Emergency Management, and the White County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
The boat eventually went over the dam, but did not appear to be damaged.
