The celebration of Mary Elizabeth Hannahs life, age 83, of Manchester, will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Neal Glass officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, January 22 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hannah passed away at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville on Saturday, January 19, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hannah was born in Chattanooga, the daughter of the late James Yancey and Bessie Lee Roberts White.
She graduated from Central High School in Manchester. She owned and operated the 41 Drive-In restaurant from 1965-1991. In earlier years, she worked at Genesco in Tullahoma. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Manchester. She especially loved traveling with the Wesley Wanderers, singing in the church choir, and ringing bells with the Ding-a-Lings. She was a founding member of Wesley Heights Methodist Church in Tullahoma.
Her passions were flowers, shopping, watching the Braves, cooking, baking, and visiting the beach. She cherished spending time with her daughters, son-in-laws, grandsons, and all the many friendships she built throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hannah was also preceded in death by three brothers, Haskel, Alfred, and Raymond White.
She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Bryan of Manchester, Jan (Steve) Hammonds of Huntsville, AL, and Mindy (Darren) Acklen of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren, Jon and Justin Fuzz Bryan.
