Doris Jean Sanders McCormick, age 71 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on January 17, 2013 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
She was a homemaker and a member of the New Union Church of Christ.
Doris was born in Florala, Alabama to her parents, the late Allen Monroe Sanders and Gussie Mae Feaster Sanders. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nell Glasscock, Dorothy Mayton and Eva McClamma; two brothers, John Sanders and Ed Sanders; and son-in-law, Mike Robison.
Doris grew up in Andalushia, AL and traveled extensively with her former husband who was in the military. She will be fondly remembered as a very caring and devoted mother and grandmother with a smile that will never be forgotten.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Donna J. Toney and her husband Mike of Bossier City, LA and Tina M. Brandon and her husband Dale of Manchester, TN; son, Steven J. McCormick of Manchester, TN; two brothers, June Sanders and Dick Sanders; three grandchildren, Michael Robison (Crystal), Kristin Olivia Brandon and Julie Marie Brandon all of Manchester, TN; niece, Jo Ann McIntosh of Columus, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Pastor Sidney Parham and Reverend Albert Watters officiating.
Burial will follow at the Welker Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that soft blankets or other needed items be personally given to nursing home patients in the Memory of Doris.
