Charles Edward Cardwell, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma at the age of 87.
Mr. Cardwell was born in Tullahoma to the late Edward and Leona Cardwell.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, and had retired from the National Guard, where he had served for 20 years. Mr. Cardwell later worked as an Insurance Agent and Office Manager with E.B. Thoma & Son and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma where he was an usher and taught Sunday School.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Luttges and one brother, Joe Cardwell.
Mr. Cardwell is survived by his wife, Billie K. Cardwell of Tullahoma; one daughter, Vicki Boggs of Tullahoma; one son, Greg Cardwell and his wife Beverly of Hazel Green, AL; three grandchildren, Kimberly Rickman and her husband, Chris, Brent Boggs and his wife Dannielle and Belinda Skelton and her husband Brian; and four grandchildren, Kathryn Grace, Christian Faith, Hannah Kay and Anthony Winkles.
Visitation for Mr. Cardwell will be held on Sunday, January 20th, 2013 from 1:00-3:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home with the funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Dorman officiating.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma with military honors.
