Memorial Service for Betty Jean McGehee, 81 of Opelika, Alabama is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Opelika First Baptist Church. Dr. Mike King is officiating.
Mrs. McGehee was born April 13, 1931 in Lincoln County, TN. She passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at East Alabama Medical Center. Mrs. McGehee had been a resident of Opelika, Alabama for the past 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Opelika and sang in the Senior Adult Choir.
She is survived by her husband, Bennie McGehee of Opelika; daughter, Faye (Don) Wasson of Demopolis, AL; son, Scot (Deborah) McGehee of Pineville, MO; 2 grandchidlren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Willie J. Halcomb of Lawrenceville, GA; three brothers, Max Tripp of Tullahoma, TN, Paul Tripp of Fayetteville, TN, and Massey Tripp of Louisville, KY.
The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers, and suggests memorials be directed to Habitat for Humanity. Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home & Crematory is directing.
