Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center held its 5th Annual Safe on the Square yesterday. The event is a safe and family-friendly trick-or-treating event for children on the historic Manchester Square. Over 60 local businesses passed out treats to the huge amount of children who attended. Several thousand kids and adults were on the square for the nearly 3-hour event. A new addition to this year’s event was a costume parade led by the Manchester Police Department. Thunder Radio, WMSR was also there playing Halloween music throughout the afternoon. In the evening the fun was at the rescue squad building. The Coffee County Rescue officials served up free hot dogs, drinks and treats. Things were also very spooky around the Manchester Fire Department as trick-or-treaters enjoyed the freaky fire hall.
