She was born on September 16, 1957 in Blue Island, IL to Mary Jane Phipps and the late William Phipps.
Ms. Choat was a gifted homemaker no matter what was placed in front of her. She loved crocheting and baking cakes goodies for everyone to enjoy. She spent quality time hand making cards for special occasions; on the back of each card was stamped “Made by hand with love by Ann”. Ms. Choat treasured time with her family and friends. She was a strong believer in not taking any friendship for granted. Ms. Choat enjoyed listing to music especially Patsy Cline.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Hickman and sister, Phyllis Oliver.
Ms. Choat is survived by her significant other, Gary Curtis of Manchester; caretaker and friend, Tina Loyd of Manchester; mother, Mary Jane Phipps of Midlothian, IL; children, Mandy, Cindy and Sylvia Hickam; brother, William Phipps of Midlothian, IL; niece, Abigail Oliver of Tullahoma. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 6 pm from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 5-6 pm at Watson-North Funeral Home.
