5/15/13 — Max Stepp

Funeral services for Mr. Max Stepp, age 86, of Beechgrove will be conducted Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother David Stockton and Reverend Louis Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Beechgrove Cemetery.

Mr. Stepp passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.

He was born November 24, 1926 in Beechgrove, TN the son of the late Lennie Freeman Stepp and Dennie Jane Shelton Stepp.  He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed his family and especially loved his grandchildren.  He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict where he was the recipient of two Bronze Stars.  He was a member of the Bell Springs United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Stepp.

Survivors include his loving wife Vera Stepp of Beechgrove, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane Myers and husband, Danny of Beechgrove; three grandchildren, Jamie Elizabeth Myers, Austin Max Myers and Morgan Daniel Myers;  two brothers, Doyle Stepp and wife, Sylvia of Beechgrove and Herschel Stepp of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Celene Jarvis of Oklahoma and Anna Lois Pouder, also of Nashville, TN.

5/14/13 — Terry Dale Davis

Graveside services for Mr. Terry Dale Davis, age 65 of Manchester will be conducted at 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Concord Cemetery with Pastor Mike Owens officiating.

Visitation with the Davis family will be Tuesday, May 14th, from 4pm until 8pm at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis passed away Saturday at the Medical Center of Manchester.

Terry was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan the son of the late Robert E. Davis and Madeline Knight Davis. He was a partner at Mid State Tire in Tullahoma and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Terry loved traditional blacksmithing, shooting his guns, woodcrafting, was a knife maker and in his younger years was a body builder. He enjoyed teaching others the crafts he practiced.Mr. Davis was of the Pentecostal faith.

5/16/13 —- Jerry Q. Mason

JERRY Q. MASON, age 80, of Monteagle, Tenn. passed away at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Mason was born in Cleveland, Tenn. to the late Walter Scott and Flora Mae Barnes Mason. He was of the Methodist Faith. Mr. Mason was employed for almost thirty-five years as manager for different bowling alleys.
He was employed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department as dispatcher for approximately twenty-one years before retiring and was a charter member of the FOP. He was happiest when he was with his family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Elsie “Sally” Tate Mason of Monteagle, son, Michael Mason of Monteagle, daughters; Carla (Robert) Chilson of Lupton City, Tenn., Rebecca (Ben) Hill of Hillsboro, Tenn., brothers; Willis (Geraldine) Mason of Delrose, Tenn., Donald Mason of Florida, Larry (Kim) Mason of Bell Buckle, Tenn., sisters; Faye (Bob) Bolton of Ala., Elizabeth (Roger) Mullins of Taft, Tenn., Linda Blue of Smyrna, three grandchildren; Rebekah Buchanan, James Buchanan and Aaron (Sara) Buchanan, three-great-grandchildren; Caitlynn Buchanan, Jamie Buchanan, Jason Buchanan, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 15, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Mike Pattengill, Fire Chaplin, Mark Bassett and FOP Chaplin, Ross Peterson officiating.

5/14/13 — Dorothy Hawkins Bramblett

Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins Bramblett 84 of Manchester died Friday, May 10th, at Harton Regional Medical Center after a two year battle with breat cancer.

She was born May 20, 1928 in Coffee County.

She was the daughter of the late Carl L. and Mary Alice Himes Hawkins and the wife of the late Haskell S. Bramblett who died in 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte (Robert) Daniel of Shelbyville; and a Granddaughter, Tabitha Daniel Groves of Nashville.

She was a member of the East Main Church of Christ in Manchester; a Graduate of MTSC (now MTSU). She was in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Dorothy was a teacher of 32 years mostly in Bedford County including Community, Cascade and Wartrace Elementary Schools. She was formerly a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of TEA and NEA. She was a lady who enjoyed traveling and reading and classic movies.

The family would like to express its thanks to Dr. Steve Bills of Tullahoma and his staff for their care and compassion during Dorothy’s illness.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family. She was a wonderful lady who was very brave and gave a valiant battle of her illness. She had a giving and generous spirit that will always be remembered by all who knew her.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 14th, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Alan Adams officiating.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

5/15/13 — MELISSA GIFFORD STOVALL

MELISSA GIFFORD STOVALL, age 63, of Estill Springs, Tenn. departed this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her residence after losing her battle with cancer.

Mrs. Stovall was born in Hammond, Ind. to the late Clyde and Polly Gifford. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Stovall, Jr. of Estill Springs, daughter, Tracy (Calvin) Short, Grandchildren; Amethyst Jade Short, Calvin Short, Jr. and Shai Emerald Short all of Winchester, Mother-in-law, Elnora Stovall of Estill Springs, several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jack Hice, officiating.

5/14/13 —– Goebel Gene Music

Funeral services for Goebel Music will be conducted on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Martin Funeral Chapel of Elk City, OK with W. Terry Varner officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ural Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home.

Goebel Gene Music, formerly of Colleyville, Texas, died May 9, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Goebel was born July 1, 1934 to Goebel Garland and Mae Elizabeth Music in Elk City (Beckham County), Oklahoma.

After graduating from Abilene Christian College (University) in 1951, Goebel was an evangelist for the churches of Christ in Texas and Arkansas. He served as Director of Texas Tech Bible Chair in Lubbock, Texas from 1954-1956. Over the years, he spoke on various radio and television programs and preached in several different countries abroad and numerous states at home. He was a prolific writer of religious materials.

He had held several gospel meetings in this area over the past several years He was full time minister at New Union Church of Christ From 1958 till 1960.2086843

Goebel enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. When younger he played baseball, basketball, and boxed. He boxed in the Golden Gloves and once played basketball against the Harlem Globetrotters.

Goebel is survived by four children: Angela (Larry) Growns of Sapulpa, OK; G. G. (Joanna) Music, Jr. of Chickasha, OK.; Alicia (Gerald) Hamric of Keller, TX.; Gaylon Trigg Music of Keller, TX. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his brother, Earl Dean Music of Norman, OK, and his sister, Mabel Lee McCord of Oklahoma City. Goebel was preceded in death by his parents.

5/7/13 — AUBREE GRACE WILLIAMS

AUBREE GRACE WILLIAMS, was born on May 7, 2013, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. God called her to be an angel that day.

She is survived by her loving parents; Ashley Dove and Gabe Williams, Maternal Grandparents; Arnold and Stephanie Dove all of the Keith Springs Community. Paternal Grandmother, Pamela Williams of Nashville, aunts; Paige Dove of Keith Springs and Heather Williams of Nashville, great grandparents; John and Mavis Dove and a great-great-grandfather, Fred Shrum all of Tracy City, Tenn., Several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Clark Gardens in the Keith Springs Community with Bro. Harold Steele, officiating.

5/11/13 — Christine Carolyn Reinke

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Carolyn Reinke, age 94 of the Mud Creek community, will be conducted Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reinke passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in Manchester.

She was born December 16, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Frank Suslik and Anna Oracki Suslik.

In earlier years, Mrs. Reinke was employed as a phone operator and was also a devoted homemaker.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was an animal lover.  She will be greatly missed by her family including her beloved special dog, Suzie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Helmut Reinke, who passed away June 6, 1994; a brother, Edwark Suslik; a very special loving niece, Kathy Fortbaught; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Fortbaught.

Survivors include her son, Chris Charles Reinke of the Mud Creek community; two step-sons, Robert Martin Reinke and wife, Kathy of Cantonsville, MD; and Budne Charles Reinke and wife, Diane of Wheaton, MD; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as three sisters, Frances Fortbaught of Baltimore, MD; Gertrude Luthy and husband, Fred of Washougal, WA; and Eleanor Suslik also of Baltimore, MD.  Also surviving is a special nephew, Robert Fortbaught of AZ and a special niece, Mary Hartly Leicht of Bel Air, MD and numerous other family members, cousins and loving friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Memory of Mrs. Reinke to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-1942
