Bring your curiosity on this easy “off road” trek to search for interesting plants and animals. Once we all find odd or interesting things we will bring them back to the parking area to find out what they are! Meet Park at the Grundy Forest Pavilion.
Bird Watching on the Cliffs
Let’s catch some birds on the wing at the Stone Door overlooks. Turkey vultures, black vultures, pigeons, hawks and more call the valley their home. Ranger Katie will provide the binoculars. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
Savage Gulf Geology
Meet at the Stone Door as we hike around the area and learn about the geological forces that worked to create the Savage Gulf. We will also talk about the types of rock found in the cliffs that line the gulf. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
