11:00 a.m.- Introductory Video: The Old Stone Fort= Meet at the museum front desk before beginning a brief introductory video to the Old Stone Fort. After the video, feel free to ask any questions you may have while touring the museum dedicated to prehistoric Native American cultures.
2:00 p.m.- Site in a Bag= Archaeologists use artifacts, or items left behind by a previous group, to try to understand and tell the story of these people and their culture. Join us at the park museum to try your hand at analyzing some artifacts. Bring your own personal items from home to make the activity more interesting.
2:45 p.m.- Native American Spear Throwing= Around 10,000 years before the bow and arrow, Native Americans were using an Atlatl, or spear thrower, to hunt large game. Join Cindy at the park museum lawn to try your hand at this ancient technique.
3:30 p.m.- Playing Chunkey= During their free time, Native Americans had many interesting games that they played. Chunkey was one of the oldest and most popular of these games. Join Cindy at the museum lawn for a chance to participate in this ancient past time activity.
