SCV CAMP 72 July 24 2012 MEETING
Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Cheatham Camp 72 will have their next dinner meeting for 2012 at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 24 at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester. At 7:00 P.M. Commander Williams will open the meeting.
For our program, we will have our own Brent Lokey speaking on Gen. Nathan Bedford’s raid on the Union supply depot at Johnsonville, TN. Supplies were being unloaded from steamboats to the depot, then transferred to rail cars for shipment to Nashville. Forrest captured a Union gunboat and was responsible for torching the depot.

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.
