HISTORY TOLD THROUGH WOVEN ART AT THE ARTS CENTER OF CANNON COUNTY
WOODBURY, Tenn. – “Woven,” an exhibition that showcases Cannon County history told through various kinds of woven art will be on display through Nov. 29 at the Arts Center of Cannon County.
The collection includes Arlene Ende’s modern textiles, the Arts Center’s white oak basket collection, a selection of modern and antique quilts and contemporary wire baskets.
Founded in 1990, the award-winning Arts Center of Cannon County is a model for rural arts organizations. The center attracts more than 40,000 visitors annually. Drawing on the blue-collar roots of its community, the organization focuses on self-sufficiency, fiscal responsibility and social entrepreneurship. The center is partially funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission, Southern Arts Federation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
