“Barefoot in the Park” is the award winning romantic comedy by Neil Simon that follows the lives of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they adjust to married life in a tiny Greenwich Village apartment. Paul is a button–down, straight arrow lawyers who is wound a little too tight while Corie is an effervescent free spirit who won’t let anything disturb her romantic bliss. The young couple must contend with a lack of heat, a skylight that leaks snow, several long flights of stairs, and oddball neighbor, Victor Velasco and Corie’s well-meaning, but eccentric, mother. As tension builds, they find that adjusting to married life isn’t so easy!
Charlie Winton, a well-known face in the area theater circles, will be directing this show. Charlie has been seen both on stage and behind the scenes as a director for many CPI shows as well as at MRC in Manchester. He has been a regular performer at Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theater in Nashville, and has appeared on stage at the Arts Center in Cannon County and the Arts Center in Murfreesboro. CPI is proud to have Charlie directing this delightful Neil Simon comedy.
